Original Idea

Originally, this song was completely different. It was much slower and quieter. I knew it wasn't 100% what it could be and when I linked up with Iggy, a producer from Texas, it finally became what it deserved to be and a step into the new direction I've been growing into. This is a rough draft that I recorded on my home microphone.

These are concepts from different graphic designers that I ended up not using. I shared I wanted to capture the wavey and dark tone but keep it simple with each of them. It's interesting what rough drafts came from it with just those few words. 

I didn't even think about changing my moniker in this stage so each piece says "Charlie Rose".

When I started the treatment for this video, I had no idea what I wanted to do but I knew that it had to be different - it had to be completely left field and break the typical music video structure.

I drew inspiration from Stranger Things with the 'upside down' and Black Mirror - two shows that followed their own paths and created immersive stories. The little kid that's drowning me is a personification of my conscious and my demons. At the beginning, he's drowning and overwhelming me. At the end, he's riding shotgun and I've fully embraced him.
